Creating realistic materials in Redshift
This was another exercise from the School of Motion - Cinema 4D Ascent class. The scene was provided for us with no lights or materials. Having a rough idea of the design I wanted for the headphones, I headed over to the excellent ambient 3D texture library to find some images to begin building my materials, adding subtle scratches and scuffs for realism. I then began adding materials to the rest of the objects working to create a harmonious look and feel from one camera shot to the next. Overall I am happy with the look and feel I was able to achieve with the science. Although the lighting is a little blown out on the headphone ear pad. When I have time, I will go back and make some adjustments to the lighting in that area.
